Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our Belfast client who is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their Finance team as an Accounts Assistant on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone just out of university or at the start of their finance career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Whether you've recently graduated or completed an accounting technician qualification, this role will give you real-world exposure to core finance.

DutiesSupporting bank reconciliations for multiple accounts in various currenciesHelping to prepare month-end customer statements and assist with direct debit collectionsAssisting with monthly management accounts (fixed asset reconciliation, intercompany invoicing, journal posting, and analysis)Processing supplier invoices for smaller group companies accurately and on timeLiaising with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queriesSupporting with VAT returns (UK & Ireland), EC Sales List, TSS and Intrastat submissionsHelping ensure invoices are approved and paid in line with company processesSupporting the finance team during busy periods with reporting and ad hoc tasks.CriteriaA recent finance, accounting or business graduate, or someone with equivalent experienceStrong attention to detail and excellent organisational skillsConfident user of Microsoft Office, especially ExcelGood communicator with the ability to work well in a teamA proactive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn and get involved.BenefitsFriendly and supportive teamA chance to gain valuable experience across different areas of financeTraining and support to develop your skillsMonday - Thursday 9am - 5pm & Friday 9am - 4pm, 35.25 hrs per week
