ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR
Position Summary:
To develop and maintain effective payables operations, procedures, and controls to ensure supplier invoice and payment transactions are processed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. This position has an emphasis on systems monitoring and administration and continuous improvement. Additional challenges include leading special projects and analyses, implementing new locations and communicating process issues and activities to the manager of Financial Supplier Processes.

This position requires frequent contact and interface with managers and supervisors at all levels of the organization from a variety of corporate, group and division functions. Interaction with outside suppliers and bank representatives is also required. Support of divisional users throughout North America is also required.
Essential Functions:
+ Recommend appropriate actions to be taken for critical process problems or issues.
+ Lead and assist in the implementation of new acquisitions onto corporate payable processes. This includes identification of all relevant conversion issues and coordination of all necessary implementation tasks.
+ Prepare, document and execute all required monthly and yearly payables systems activities.
+ Complete accounts payable tasks in accordance with Parker and regulatory requirements.
+ Provide user support for the Accounts Payable system to all internal and external customers. Support includes working actively with payables processor teams and business customers to ensure the payables system is functioning accurately and that adequate control is maintained over payables processing.
+ Analyze any payables problems which are encountered. Determine and document the causes and solutions.
+ Develop and maintain common reports used by all payable customers to meet both internal and external requirements. Includes reviewing new requirements through frequent communication with other functional departments (Treasury, Tax, Procurement, etc.).
+ Lead functional requirements definition and acceptance testing activities in support of routine system enhancements and upgrades. This includes developing and maintaining adequate procedures and documentation to ensure new functionality meets process requirements prior to migration into the production environment.
+ Lead the ongoing payables continuous improvement process.
+ Provide supervisory direction, training and development for payables team members.
Qualifications:
+ This position requires a level of education normally acquired through college-level education in accounting, finance, business or related field.
+ 4-year college degree or a combination of associates degree and relevant experience.
+ Five to seven years’ experience in accounts payable.
+ Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes, Mainframe Applications.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills.
+ Previous experience with accounting systems implementations.
+ Prior accounts payable experience in a centralized environment is preferred.
+ Prior work experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.
+ Previous work experience in a team environment is highly preferred.
