Job Description Insight Global is working with a client to identify an Accounting Specialist with experience in the construction industry to join their team in a temporary role, helping to fill in for someone who is going to be going out on leave. This is an onsite, 40-hour a week position in Oceanside, CA. Key responsibilities of the role include: General Accounting: - Provide day-to-day accounting support, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes. - Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance. Accounts Receivable (A/R) - Prepare and process customer invoices. - Track outstanding payments, monitor aging, and support collections as needed. Certified Payroll - Process weekly certified payroll in compliance with federal, state, and project-specific requirements. - Ensure accurate classification, wage rates, and fringe calculations for all employees on public works projects. - Prepare and submit certified payroll reports (e.g., DIR, LCP Tracker, PWCP). Job Costing - Allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses to appropriate jobs and cost codes. - Review job cost reports for accuracy and completeness. - Support project managers with cost data insights as needed. The ideal candidate will be ready for immediate placement, available to start as early as 1/12/2026. This is a 4-6 week contract. Pay ranges between $28-31/hr. Skills and Requirements • Prior accounting experience required (with some construction industry experience). • Strong understanding of certified payroll processes and compliance. • Experience with job costing in a construction environment. • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to existing systems and workflows. • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (some flexibility with scheduling).
