Your work will involve performing complex and technical accounting functions, including maintaining records, generating reports, verifying data, and reconciling specialized accounts. Your expertise will directly support the financial health of our school sites, ensuring that resources are managed responsibly and in alignment with regulatory requirements. As a Accounting Specialist you will be assisting with fiscal operations and be responsible for (but not limited to): -Maintain general ledger accounts, including preparing, analyzing, reconciling, and posting financial transactions. -Collect, analyze, and reconcile fiscal records and reports using San José Unified supported applications. -Complete analyses, audits, schedules, and reports, interpreting information to inform decisions and meet compliance requirements. -Support sites and departments to ensure funds and resources are appropriately budgeted, allocated, and used according to policies and regulations. -Develop revenue and expenditure forecasts and assist in budget preparations. -Review and approve expenditure documents, including but not limited to reimbursement requests, timesheets, invoices, and credit card statements, in alignment with policies and requirements.

What you need for this position: -4-year degree in finance, accounting, or business administration or any combination of experience and education equivalent to four or more years -Resume and cover letter -Pass San José Unified assessment Roles Available: -Fiscal Department -1.0 FTE - 40hrs./week - 8:00am-5:00pm -12-Month Position Note to internal applicants: Even though we may have some information on file for you, we encourage you to submit a letter of introduction highlighting your qualifications and interest in this role, as well as any other information you would like to share.
