Under broad supervision, you will reconcile and adjust general ledger accounts and/or bank statements. You may also perform moderately complex analyses of performance results. In addition, you will compile, consolidate, and analyze accounting and finance information for financial statements and reports and perform other special projects as assigned.
How you will contribute
You will:
Support accounting and external reporting activities including accurate and timely U.S. GAAP reporting and timeliness and integrity of statutory financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, KPIs, fixed assets, restructuring and intercompany charges. As required, you will support activities performed by Mondelēz International Business Services/third-party service providers during month/quarter /year-end close, statistical reporting and statutory auditContribute to strong controls and compliance environment and comply with Mondelēz International’s AER policies. Support audit activities and provide information on auditors' requestPerform moderately complex analysis of performance results as requestedEmbrace a mindset of continuous improvement. TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding U.S. GAAP, IFRS or local GAAP, close processes and financial reporting systems (SAP experience preferred). Knowledge in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reportingBUSINESS ACUMEN and experience working in FMCG/CPG Industry or Big Four accounting preferredLEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Analyst to support statutory accounting, tax compliance, and intercompany accounting activities within a multinational environment.
The role involves close collaboration with externalized finance teams (AP, GL, TAX, VAT), ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Romanian statutory requirements, maintaining accounting accuracy, and supporting financial reporting and audit processes.
The role will also have a focus on intercompany accounting, including reconciliations, transaction monitoring, coordination with group entities, and ensuring compliance with transfer pricing and group policies.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Accounting & Compliance
Analyze US GAAP accounting books and ensure alignment with Romanian accounting and tax legislation.Review and adjust accounting records in accordance with local statutory requirements.Review fiscal statements submitted to authorities (e.g., VAT returns, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax) and perform reconciliations.Perform quality checks and validation of accounting entries across all accounting areas.Support the timely preparation and submission of statutory financial statements.Monitor accounting accuracy and completeness during monthly and year-end closing activities.Intercompany Accounting
Manage and oversee intercompany transactions to ensure accurate recording and reconciliation across group entities.Review intercompany invoicing, recharges, and allocations in line with group policies.Review and validate intercompany entries posted by externalized teams or shared service centers.Ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements and documentation standards.Contribute to process improvements and standardization of intercompany accounting procedures.Financial Operations & Stakeholder Coordination
Provide accounting support to externalized finance teams (AP, GL, TAX, VAT).Maintain effective communication between local business teams and outsourced finance functions.Ensure timely resolution of accounting and operational issues impacting financial reporting.Support business stakeholders with accounting and financial information as needed.Audits, Controls & Regulatory Environment
Support statutory audits, tax audits, internal control reviews, and US GAAP/STAT audits.Assist in implementing audit recommendations and strengthening internal controls.Maintain relationships with local authorities (ANAF, DITL, BNR, INS and other relevant institutions).Support internal and external reporting requirements and compliance processes.Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in multinational or shared service environments.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Romanian statutory accounting and tax regulations.Proven experience with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.Experience working with outsourced finance teams or shared service centers is an advantage.Exposure to statutory reporting and audit processes.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).Advanced Excel skills.Key Competencies
