Accounting Specialist
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial data entry. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all accounting activities. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working within an ERP system and performing detailed financial tasks. Key Responsibilities + Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the ERP system. + Maintain vendor files, match invoices to purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies. + Prepare bank deposits, assist with cash applications, and reconcile financial accounts regularly. + Generate reports, financial summaries, and documentation for internal and external audits. + Support month‑end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. + Collaborate with purchasing, production, and operations teams to ensure proper cost allocation and invoice accuracy. + Monitor aging reports and assist with collection efforts when necessary. + Maintain accurate financial records and support continuous improvement of accounting processes. + Assist with inventory‑related accounting tasks, including reviewing transactions for accuracy (manufacturing preferred). + Utilize Excel for financial tracking, reporting, and data analysis (e.g., formulas, spreadsheets, basic functions). Required Qualifications + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + 1–3 years of accounting experience (AP/AR, payroll, or general accounting support). + Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, or similar). + Strong Excel skills, including basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and spreadsheet maintenance. + Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. + Effective communication and ability to work cross‑functionally. Preferred Qualifications + Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. + Knowledge of inventory accounting or cost accounting principles. + Familiarity with month‑end close processes and journal entries. + Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Elkhorn, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $53000.00 - $58000.00/yr.
