Job Description
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger analysis, and other accounting functions. Additionally, the role involves managing special projects as assigned, with a direct reporting line to the Director of Accounting.
Responsibilities
+ Handle inquiries, requests, disputes, and complaints efficiently and in a customer-oriented manner, ensuring resolution through various channels such as telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
+ Contribute to accounts payable by setting up vendors in the financial system, generating deficit funding requests for developers, reviewing and responding to payment requests, and allocating payments to appropriate general ledger codes.
+ Prepare and distribute end-of-month financial statements packages accurately and timely by completing standard operating procedures including posting fees, paying vendors, and reconciling bank statements.
+ Assist in the annual budgeting process by preparing necessary documents and spreadsheets, uploading approved budgets to the financial system, and creating files for printing with coupon books.
+ Ensure timely completion of special projects by developing and implementing project plans, tracking progress, and reporting as required.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with a focus on compiling and reviewing corporate financial statements and budgets.
+ Proficiency in Excel, including lookups and pivot tables.
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
+ Experience with QuickBooks Online.
+ Experience with software transitions and implementations.
+ High volume accounts receivable experience.
+ Billing experience and posting payments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in Caliber or other community association software is a plus.
+ Strong problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
+ Proven finance and/or accounting experience within the community association industry.
+ Working knowledge of federal and state laws governing the financial operation of community associations.
+ Familiarity with community association governing documents.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kissimmee, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.85/hr.
