The Accounting Specialist will play a key role within the finance team, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) activities. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and proper application of cash while supporting general accounting functions as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable collaborating across departments to resolve discrepancies and improve cash flow.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable (Primary Focus)
Generate, review, and distribute customer invoices accurately and on timeMonitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balancesApply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire, credit cards) accurately in the ERP systemInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cashCommunicate professionally with customers regarding invoices, payment status, and account inquiriesSupport month-end AR close activities, including reconciliations and reportingGeneral Accounting Support
Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processesMaintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standardsSupport audits by preparing documentation and responding to requestsCollaborate with internal teams (sales, customer service, operations) to ensure billing accuracyParticipate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controlsQualificationsRequired
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2+ years of accounting experience with a strong emphasis on accounts receivableExperience with accounting or ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, QuickBooks)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWork Environment
