We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Halifax, NS. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Our team operates as an independent group to critically assess and review current processes pertaining to the operations of new take-overs and existing clients requiring a ‘refresh’. We work to fully utilize our technology and resources to create efficiencies, automate processes, and increase the quality and usefulness of client reporting. We also educate our colleagues on how to do the same.
We will count on you to:
Onboarding: Lead and facilitate the onboarding process for new team members, ensuring a smooth transition and comprehensive understanding of company policies, systems, and workflows. Provide ongoing support and resources to help new hires become productive quickly.
Challenge Projects: Manage and participate in complex projects that require innovative problem-solving and strategic thinking. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions, meet project deadlines, and deliver high-quality results that align with organizational goals.
Training and Coaching: Design and deliver training sessions to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge. Act as a mentor and coach to foster professional development, improve performance, and promote a collaborative team environment.
Working with Technical Support Teams: Serve as a liaison between the business units, ensuring technical issues are addressed promptly. Collaborate with the technical support team to troubleshoot, resolve system issues, and implement enhancements that improve operational efficiency.
Attrition Management: Monitor and analyze attrition trends within the team, develop strategies to improve employee retention, and implement engagement initiatives. Support managers in addressing turnover challenges and maintaining a stable, motivated workforce.
What you need to have:
Strong proficiency in Excel and experience navigating accounting and/or insurance software systems
Solid understanding of insurance principles and insurance accounting practices
Proven ability to critically evaluate processes and working papers, with a track record of implementing improvements
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-motivated approach
Highly organized, adaptable, and able to pivot with changing priorities
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for training and coaching colleagues
