Responsibilities:
Financial Operations Oversight: Manage the day-to-day accounting department, including AP, AR, GL, Job Costing, and financial statement preparation.
The Monthly Close Master: Lead and execute a timely, accurate, and audit-ready close process, including preparing and posting complex journal entries, performing variance analysis, and reconciling all subledgers and balance sheet accounts.
Structure & Process Improvement: Design and implement robust close checklists, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and documentation to build structure and efficiency.
Compliance & Audit Readiness: Serve as the point person for external audits and investor requests. Implement and maintain internal controls and ensure strict compliance with GAAP, including significant experience with ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases).
Expert Knowledge Application: Validate revenue and COGS, manage payroll support, and ensure accuracy in a high-tech manufacturing, project-based setting.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills:
Preferred (A Plus):
Public Accounting and/or direct Aerospace/Defense industry experience.
Experience with DCAA compliance, cost accounting, and government reporting.
Experience with investor requests and setting up data rooms.

Bachelors

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management/supervisory role.
Significant experience managing the GL and month-end close in a project-based, high-tech manufacturing environment.
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Expertise in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition practices, especially in the Aerospace/Defense sector.
Advanced proficiency in ERPs and Excel.
Proven experience managing external audits and preparing audit-ready documentation.
Leadership and Mindset:
A self-motivated self-starter who is willing to challenge the status quo and drive change.
Exceptional attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills, and a commitment to confidentiality.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and communicate effectively across all levels.
