Description A rapidly growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to own the general accounting and monthly close process for a large plant operation. This role will manage day-to-day accounting activities, lead the close process, and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff while helping build scalable processes. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a seasoned Senior Accountant ready to step into management or an Accounting Manager who enjoys improving processes and building structure. Key Responsibilities + Own the plant’s general ledger and month-end close process + Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, payroll, fixed assets, prepaids, and intercompany activity + Perform balance sheet, cash, and fixed asset reconciliations + Ensure timely, accurate monthly close and financial data integrity + Prepare and assemble financial statement support for Controller and finance leadership + Oversee and guide Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff + Review subledger-to-GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies + Establish and document accounting procedures and close workflows + Drive process improvements and standardization across a growing, multi-entity environment + Support internal and external audits and compliance requirements + Partner with finance leadership on public-company-level reporting expectations + Participate in ERP migration and system enhancement initiatives Work Environment + Plant-based leadership role in Montgomery, AL + Opportunity to build structure and make a visible impact + Collaborative, operations-focused culture This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on leadership, process improvement, and working closely with operations in a growing manufacturing environment. Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required + 5+ years of hands-on general accounting and monthly close experience + Proven experience owning the close process for a mid-sized company ($50M+ revenue preferred) + Prior experience managing or leading accounting staff (AP/AR or general accounting) + Strong experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting support + ERP experience required (Epicor, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar preferred) + Advanced Excel skills Preferred Experience + Manufacturing or operations-driven environment strongly preferred + Multi-entity or multi-site experience + CPA or CMA a plus (not required) + Experience building or improving accounting processes and controls + Background in high-growth or acquisition-heavy organizations This is an outstanding opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys hands-on leadership, process improvement, and working closely with operations in a growing manufacturing environment.
