Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the financial operations of our organization in Portland, Oregon. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of professionals while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting or a mix of industry experience, paired with a passion for guiding and developing teams. Responsibilities: • Supervise and mentor a team of eight accounting professionals, including billing staff, to ensure optimal performance and development. • Oversee month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion. • Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Conduct financial statement audits and provide necessary documentation for external auditors. • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. • Perform account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data. • Establish and implement best practices to improve the efficiency of accounting operations. • Collaborate with leadership to provide insights and recommendations for financial strategies. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. • Support the transition and growth of the role into a potential Controller position. Job Order: 03600-0013372404 Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Associate's degree may be considered. • Proven experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and managerial roles. • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team, with prior supervisory experience preferred. • Proficiency in month-end close, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation. • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and journal entry processes. • Familiarity with financial audits and regulatory compliance standards. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
