Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description Colleen McAuliffe from Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a dynamic events and entertainment organization in the greater San Jose Area, California. This role involves leading a team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and driving process improvements to support the company’s growth. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, team leadership, and strategic collaboration. Active CPA (California) required This role is Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote Client only considering local to the Greater San Jose / San Francisco Area only SAP product experience required Responsibilities: • Manage revenue recognition for a diverse range of large events. • Lead and enhance the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance on workload distribution and fostering growth and development. • Review facility leases and operating agreements to ensure proper accounting treatment for major capital expenditures. • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. • Coordinate annual external audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. • Collaborate with tax advisors to maintain compliance and optimize tax strategies. • Evaluate insurance policies for organizational assets and recommend appropriate coverage. • Implement policy, process, and system improvements to strengthen accounting operations. • Conduct budget-to-actual variance analyses to provide insights to senior leadership. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management. • Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and account reconciliation. • Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation in the state of California • Expertise in SAP S/4HANA or similar financial systems. • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively. • Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and tax compliance. • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
