Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee key financial operations and ensure accuracy in reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in managing general ledger activities, month-end closings, and financial audits. This role is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic wholesale distribution environment. Responsibilities: • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Manage and maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. • Oversee the preparation and execution of financial statement audits, coordinating with external auditors as needed. • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies. • Provide financial insights and support to management for decision-making purposes. • Train and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and development. • Monitor and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all financial operations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting management or supervisory roles. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and month-end close processes. • Expertise in preparing and supporting financial statement audits. • Proficiency in performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. • Ability to review and approve journal entries with a high level of accuracy. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage and mentor a team. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
