Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a well-established construction company located in Brea, California. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to lead accounting operations, oversee a collaborative team, and contribute to the financial success of a growing organization. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for process improvement.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage monthly and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external financial regulations.
• Reconcile financial statements and general ledger accounts, addressing discrepancies as needed.
• Collaborate with operations teams, project managers, and other departments to provide financial insights and support.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
• Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff to foster growth and enhance team performance.
• Participate in tax-related activities and coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide detailed financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong foundation in technical accounting principles and practices.
• Previous experience in the construction, heavy civil, or manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as JD Edwards, Sage, or Power BI.
• Exceptional analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A stable work history that reflects long-term commitments and growth.
