Accounting Manager of Inventory Process
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee inventory-related accounting processes in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will manage compliance, ensure accurate financial reporting, and lead a team dedicated to maintaining operational efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with supply chain and operations teams to drive improvements and ensure the integrity of inventory accounting. Responsibilities: • Supervise the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and detailed reporting. • Conduct thorough reviews of monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy in variance explanations and material journal entries. • Oversee inventory reserve accounting, including quarterly reviews and presenting findings to senior leadership. • Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to identify and resolve inventory reconciliation issues. • Lead initiatives to enhance inventory systems and streamline accounting workflows for improved efficiency. • Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on daily activities such as inventory bookings and adjustments. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls across all inventory-related processes. • Act as a subject matter expert for inventory systems, providing insights and recommendations for improvements. • Partner with internal audit teams to address compliance issues and identify opportunities for process enhancements. • Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to ensure accurate and transparent reporting. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus. • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on inventory accounting in the hospitality or related industries. • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal control processes. • Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing accounting teams. • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. • Proficiency in Oracle or similar accounting systems is preferred. • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present to executives. • Demonstrated expertise in variance analysis, inventory reserves, and process improvement initiatives.
