Position Summary
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager II to lead and oversee our accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial operations supporting the operating division and its units. This role involves preparing comprehensive financial reports, managing budgeting and forecasting, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring tax compliance, managing payroll, and identifying financial risks while driving process improvements. The position requires maintaining strong accounting controls aligned with company systems and programs and reports directly to the Division Accounting Manager. This role has direct reports and plays a critical part in supporting strategic financial decision-making and operational excellence. This position has direct reports. Please note, this position is not eligible for company relocation or visa sponsorship.
Scope/ Supervision and Interaction _Has Direct Report(s)
Key Responsibilities
+ Managing the accounting team: responsible for overseeing the accounting team and ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
+ Financial reporting: preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure that financial reports are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
+ Budgeting and forecasting: creating budgets and forecasts for their division. Ensure that budgets are accurate and aligned with the company's overall financial goals.
+ Accounts payable: responsible for managing the accounts payable process, including processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring that payments are made on time.
+ Accounts receivable: responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, including invoicing customers, managing collections, and reconciling customer accounts.
+ Payroll: managing the payroll process, including processing payroll, ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations, and reconciling payroll accounts.
+ Tax compliance: responsible for ensuring that the division complies with all tax laws and regulations. This includes preparing and filing tax returns, managing tax audits, and ensuring that the division is taking advantage of all available tax deductions.
+ Risk management: identifying and managing financial risks within the division. This includes assessing risk levels, developing risk management strategies, and implementing risk management controls.
+ Process improvement: identifying areas where accounting processes can be improved. Develop and implement process improvement plans to ensure that the division's accounting processes are efficient and effective.
+ Financial analysis: analyzing financial data to identify trends and patterns. Apply this information to make informed decisions about the division's financial future and to develop strategies to improve financial performance.
+ Preparation of journal vouchers
+ Preparation of plant statements and reports
+ Monthly account reconciliations
+ Corporate Accounting and Tax reporting requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
+ Minimum 5- 7 years’ experience in accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Thorough knowledge of all aspects of general accounting.
+ Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
+ Experience with general ledger account reconciliation, review, and critical analysis.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to manage many tasks at a given time and work effectively with others in a team environment.
