Our client, a growing and dynamic organization, is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a high-impact role within a collaborative accounting group, with strong visibility to leadership and a clear path for growth.
The Accounting Manager will operate as a key individual contributor, working closely with the Controller and FP&A team, and will take ownership of core accounting functions in a fast-paced, evolving environment. While the role does not currently include direct reports, it offers a strong runway into people management as the company scales.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and execute key aspects of the month-end and year-end close processPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsMaintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and complianceManage and enhance accounts payable (AP) processesEnsure adherence to GAAP and strengthen internal controlsPartner cross-functionally with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisCollaborate directly with the Controller on reporting, audits, and strategic initiativesAnalyze financial performance and provide insights to support decision-makingIdentify opportunities for process improvements and automationStep into future leadership responsibilities as the accounting team growsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reportingStrong understanding of GAAP and internal controlsExperience with accounts payable (AP) and general ledger managementAdvanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systemsCPA is a plus, but not requiredBackground in public accounting (Big 4 or similar) strongly preferredProven ability to take ownership, manage priorities, and operate independently in a fast-paced environmentWhy This Role?High visibility with senior leadership and cross-functional teamsOpportunity to own key processes and make a meaningful impactCollaborative, growth-oriented environmentClear path to build and lead a team over timeTeam EnvironmentCollaborative accounting team of 5–7 professionalsClose partnership with Controller and FP&AFast-paced, evolving business with strong growth trajectoryJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
