Job Title: Accounting Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an ownership-driven Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a Sr Accountant ready to step into leadership, with 2-3 years of supervisory or team lead experience. You will own the month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and audit readiness, ensuring accurate, timely, and audit-ready financials. You will also make day-to-day accounting decisions, escalating complex or technical matters as needed. This role is critical to building a high-performing, reliable accounting operation that runs with consistency and minimal oversight, while supporting the company’s continued growth.
Responsibilities
Lead the month-end close process, ensuring completion by Day 5.Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.Maintain a clean, well-supported general ledger.Ensure balance sheet integrity, including timely completion of reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items.Lead audit preparation and PBC coordination.Partner on audit execution and ensure strong internal controls and audit-ready documentation.Supervise and review work of accounting team members.Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability.Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.Help drive system transitions and expense management system implementation.Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.Oversee key accounting areas for inventory, deductions/trade spend, and outsourced order-to-cash processes.Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.Process payroll adjustments such as bonuses, commissions, overtime, and reimbursements.Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and reporting.Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax-related questions.Support audits by providing payroll documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls.Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field with significant accounting coursework.5–8+ years of accounting experience.2–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience.Hands-on ownership of month-end close and general ledger accounting.Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.Experience with reconciliations, audit support, and financial reporting.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in consumer packaged goods is beneficial.Experience with NAV and Business Central systems is advantageous.Work Environment

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $85.00 - $95.00/hr.
