Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on, change-oriented finance leader to oversee finance operations for a small yet growing precision manufacturing site. Operating in a dynamic, private-equity-backed environment, this role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, enhancing internal controls, modernizing finance processes, and developing robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) following a recent acquisition. This position serves as the site’s finance leader and trusted advisor to operations and leadership, balancing technical accounting precision with practical execution.

Responsibilities

Lead the finance function for a precision manufacturing site; coach and develop the team.Own month-end close and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.Strengthen internal controls and standardize SOPs to correct inconsistent or non-compliant legacy processes.Drive continuous improvement through process automation, technology adoption, and cross-functional cost reduction/value engineering efforts.Partner with leadership on forecasting, annual operating plan, strategic planning, and analytics.Advise on pricing/proposals and compliance, with government contracting exposure being a plus (FAR/DFAR/TINA/CAS).Manage special projects and broader business needs as they arise in a lean environment.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.Progressive accounting/finance experience with controllership scope.Demonstrated technical accounting strength and experience operating under close deadlines.Advanced Excel proficiency and strong financial communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Manufacturing controllership experience, with aerospace exposure being a plus.Experience in private equity-backed or 'build-the-process' environments.Power BI/reporting modernization and/or data warehouse project exposure.Familiarity with government contracting compliance (FAR/DFAR/TINA/CAS).MBA/CPA/CMA or other advanced credentials.

Work Environment

This role is situated in an on-site precision manufacturing setting in the Greater Philadelphia area, with specific site details handled confidentially. Standard working hours are aligned with site operations, from 7:30am to 4:00pm. Free parking is available on-site. The work environment features a lean team structure, supported by an external audit/finance support partner.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $118000.00/yr.
