TotalEnergies has developed a strong expertise in oil and biofuels, natural gas and electricity trading. Trading entities are based in Geneva, Paris, Houston and Singapore.
TotalEnergies installed its European trading hub across in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities: TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP).
T&S is a trading company in charge of all physical trading and shipping of crude oil and refined products on behalf of the TotalEnergies Company. It has been an active participant all over the supply chain as well as on the derivatives paper market in order to manage the market risk for a long time.
TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP) is the trading arm of TotalEnergies in the field of low carbon energies. As such, it operates in fast-evolving market dynamics influenced by internal and external factors that require constant adaptation and evolution.
As part of the financial team, you will report to the GM Finance and your main tasks
will be the following:
a. Supervise and ensure accurate and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual closing for statutory and consolidated Financial Statements, for the full perimeter managed in Geneva (10 entities, main ones being TOTSA – TotalEnergies Oil Trading SA and CSSA – Chartering and Shipping Services SA):
Trading accountingShipping accountingDerivatives accounting Overheads accountingActively involved in SOX controls Manage the audit process with the external auditors, as well as internal auditors.Prepare Financial Statements for tax return, in particular for Swiss entities
b. Improve constantly efficiency of processes
Review internal invoicing processes, internal deals and Service Level Agreements between entitiesParticipate to Financial control analysis and Budget follow-upClose cooperation with Operations, Middle office, IT, Internal Control, Financial Controlling in a business partner approach
c. Accounting norms: Closely follow the accounting norms application and evolution (IFRS, Swiss and French standards) and TotalEnergies guidelines and ensure correct application in TOTSA and shipping financial statements.
In particular IFRS9, 7, 13, 16, and future IFRS18Support other trading entities in being norm specialistFor specific operations (such as credit, financing, partnerships, new business), advise on the accounting treatment in line with legal documentation
d. Human Resources:
Manage a team of 16 specialized accountants (organisation, recruitment, training…) Push the team towards digitalisation (such as automatization with Python, PowerBi, IA agents) and efficiency Ensure that deliverables of the team are produced in time and of good qualityEnsure that accounting topics can be carried out by his team (effective and efficient back-ups)We are committed to meet the energy needs of a growing population and we are committed to the energy transition.
