About the Company
We’re partnering with a well-established Property & Casualty (P& C) insurance business in San Antonio that operates with a true small-business, family-style culture. This team values trust, consistency, and collaboration—and they’re excited to bring on an Accounting Manager who can own the accounting function while helping modernize and streamline processes.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys end-to-end accounting, has experience in regulated environments, and wants their ideas to actually be heard and implemented.
The Role
The Accounting Manager will oversee the full accounting cycle and play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. You’ll work closely with leadership and have meaningful visibility into the business.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Own month-end close (MEC) and full-cycle accounting
+ Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
+ Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
+ Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
+ Assist with audit and regulatory examinations
+ Support statutory reporting and NAIC filings
+ Work with multi-state insurance accounting requirements
+ Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve processes
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or Business
+ 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a small business or hands-on environment with ownership of end-to-end accounting
+ Bilingual in Spanish required
+ Strong experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
+ Solid background in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
+ Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
+ Experience in Property & Casualty (P& C) insurance accounting preferred
+ Exposure to statutory reporting and NAIC standards a plus
+ Experience supporting audits or regulatory examinations
+ Familiarity with multi-state insurance operations is a plus
+ Strong attention to detail, high level of integrity, and consistency in execution
+ Comfortable working in a small, close-knit, family-style environment
+ Proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and automation
