Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Stuart, Florida. In this role, you will oversee various aspects of financial management, including preparing accurate financial statements, maintaining general ledger records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage month-end closing processes, resolve discrepancies, and contribute to the overall integrity of financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
• Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and other documentation to support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure vendor invoices and payments are accurately posted, performing timely reconciliations as needed.
• Manage year-end tax reporting activities, including the preparation and submission of 1099 filings.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of state sales and use taxes, as assigned.
• Review and post entries for debt schedules, fixed assets, lease schedules, and prepaid accounts, while maintaining supporting worksheets and schedules.
• Support the development of monthly and annual financial statements by gathering and analyzing relevant data.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Provide backup support to team members and contribute to special projects as needed.
• Ensure all accounting processes are executed accurately and within specified deadlines.
Requirements
• Strong ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies with precision.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience using accounting software
• Knowledge of the construction industry is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience being a plus.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting; certification is a bonus.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to navigate complex financial processes
