**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced **Accounting Manager** to lead our **ATS Japan accounting team** . In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving timely and accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with local and global standards (GAAP, US GAAP, SOX), and providing key financial insights to support strategic business decisions. You will also play a key role in the successful implementation of systems and process improvements, working cross-functionally to enhance operational efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead and manage the **monthly financial close process** , ensuring accuracy and timely submission of financial reports and deliverables.
+ Review and approve **journal entries** and **account reconciliations** , ensuring compliance and prompt resolution of outstanding items.
+ Provide **cost and margin analysis** , including periodic standard cost reviews and ad hoc profitability assessments.
+ Oversee **fixed asset accounting** and **working capital components** (inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable).
+ Ensure robust **internal controls** are in place and adhered to, supporting **SOX** and **local statutory compliance** .
+ Deliver insightful **financial analysis** to support decision-making, trend identification, and business strategy.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support **pricing proposals** , **cost estimations** , and financial inputs for operational initiatives.
+ Drive **continuous improvement** in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Minimum **5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience** with proven **leadership or supervisory responsibilities** .
+ Strong proficiency in **Microsoft Excel** and experience with complex financial data analysis.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage **multiple priorities** in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
+ Fluent in **Japanese** with **professional-level English** proficiency.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Hands-on experience with **HFM/Hyperion** and **ERP systems** (Epicor a strong plus).
+ Solid understanding of **US GAAP** , **local GAAP** , and **SOX compliance** .
+ **CPA certification** and/or experience in a **public accounting/audit firm** highly desirable.
