Accounting Manager
Description We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This stand-alone position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic startup environment and is eager to own the accounting function. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO and play a critical role in establishing and managing the company’s financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance, and driving operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: + Accounting Operations: + Manage and oversee all aspects of daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), fixed assets, and payroll. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records. + Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes. + Financial Reporting: + Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP to present to the CFO and other stakeholders. + Generate management reports, dashboards, and key performance indicator (KPI) summaries for leadership review. + Compliance and Audit: + Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal tax regulations. + Coordinate audits and create audit-ready documentation. + Manage tax filings in partnership with external consultants as needed. + Budgeting and Forecasting: + Work with the CFO to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans. + Monitor variances and propose corrective actions to achieve financial targets. + Process Improvements: + Identify gaps in current systems and processes; design and implement accounting and reporting improvements to optimize efficiency. + Ensure effective use of ERP and financial software platforms. + Cross-functional Collaboration: + Partner with business and operations teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory tracking. + Support teams with financial data and help develop decision-making frameworks. Requirements + Audit experience and CPA certification preferred, not required + 5+ years of finance and accounting experience with solid GAAP knowledge + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field (or equivalent) + Proficient in tools such as QuickBooks Online and Gusto + Strong quantitative abilities and advanced Excel skills + Experienced in fast-paced work environments Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
