Position Summary: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of various real estate development projects. This role involves overseeing job cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in real estate development accounting, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing complex financial workflows. Key Responsibilities: + Manage job cost accounting using Yardi Voyager, ensuring accurate cost tracking and budget adherence. + Lead monthly/quarterly job cost meetings with development and accounting teams to review financial status and projections. + Collaborate with Project Managers to forecast cash flows and ensure adequate funding for project needs. + Oversee job cost accruals and ensure timely, well-documented entries. + Review construction contracts for accuracy and compliance with company policies. + Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes. + Supervise contract and job closeouts, ensuring complete documentation. + Continuously improve reporting processes to meet evolving management needs. + Resolve discrepancies in job cost reports and approve cost transfers. + Ensure accurate percentage of completion calculations and documentation. + Coordinate the transition from job cost to depreciation/expensing phases. + Approve vendor setups and changes in the accounting system. + Research and document accounting treatments for unique scenarios. + Prepare audit schedules and year-end financial materials. + Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: + Minimum 8 years of experience in development accounting, preferably in real estate. + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. + Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles and job cost methodology. + Experience with percentage of completion accounting is highly desirable. + Proficiency in Yardi Voyager and Microsoft Excel required. + Proven leadership experience and ability to manage staff. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. + Self-starter with a service-oriented mindset and adaptability to change.
