Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, treasury functions, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in nonprofit financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead a finance team in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the CFO to support budget planning, cost management, and grant fund utilization.
• Assist in developing annual and multi-year budgets and financial strategies.
• Lead financial reporting, revenue analysis, audit and tax filings, and cash management.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations.
• Coordinate workflow and communication across finance and other departments.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and software vendors.
• Prepare flash reports, finance committee reports, and special financial analyses.
• Support year-end financial statement preparation and review.
• Act as Lead Accountant for affiliated entities as needed.
• Review program income statements and financial reports post-closing.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a Lead finance role.
• Experience in nonprofit or human services organizations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and federal grant compliance (Uniform Guidance).
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.42/hr.
