Accounting Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This role will support daily accounting functions for multiple business units, including month-end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data, improving processes, and maintaining strong business controls. Responsibilities: • Manage internal systems and models for quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting across business units. • Act as the primary finance contact for operational reporting, including production costs, cost drivers, and variance analysis. • Prepare monthly journal entries and analyze inventory data, providing insights to management. • Perform month-end close tasks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. • Monitor and reconcile accounting data to ensure consistency across sub-ledgers. • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives and present findings to leadership. • Provide backup support for general ledger functions as needed. • Collaborate with other departments to review expenditures and analyze variances from budget and forecast. • Support year-end audits by compiling and verifying financial data. • Assist with project-based tasks and responsibilities as required. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced certifications are preferred. • 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, showcasing a track record of increased responsibilities. • Proficiency in accounting and finance principles, auditing, and cost control methodologies. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as familiarity with accounting software systems. • Ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable conclusions with minimal supervision. • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. • High level of integrity, dependability, and confidentiality when handling proprietary information. • Experience in agriculture or poultry industries is a plus.
