Accounting Manager
Description We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure the integrity of accounting processes. Based in Austin, Texas, this role involves managing audits, supervising a team, and driving process improvements to strengthen controls and streamline operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and system automation to enhance the overall efficiency of the accounting function. Responsibilities: • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Manage internal and external audit activities, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. • Prepare and analyze key balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation to enhance operational efficiency. • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff, fostering engagement and attention to detail. • Review and approve reconciliations, journal entries, and account analyses prepared by staff. • Collaborate with leadership to maintain a strong control environment and safeguard company assets. • Support financial due diligence and integration efforts related to acquisitions. • Enhance analytical processes and controls to improve the quality of financial reporting. • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, providing financial expertise and insights as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles. • Proficiency in account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entries. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting standards. • Proven ability to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
