What You’ll Be Doing: In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for driving effective accounting processes and mentoring a team. You’ll also gain exposure to complex accounting concepts, including Percent-of-Completion revenue recognition and deferred revenue management, and contribute to the financial health of the organization. Key responsibilities include: + Accounting Processes & Reporting: Oversee timely and accurate processing of transactions and accounting data, including maintenance of the general ledger system. + Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process in compliance with U.S. GAAP and prepare financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow). + Accounting Breakdown & Reconciliations: Perform account analysis and reconciliations to ensure accurate data reporting. + Revenue Recognition: Apply Percent-of-Completion revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting principles. + Audit & Tax Preparation: Assist in fiscal year-end audit and corporate tax return filings. + ERP Implementation: Support the implementation of a new ERP system and train key resources for optimized use. + Leadership: Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth within your team. + Compliance: Maintain and enforce strong internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. + Special Projects: Contribute to and lead special initiatives as requested. + Safety Leadership: Promote and ensure all employees embrace our strong safety culture. Qualifications include: + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. + Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or relevant fields, including project accounting experience. + Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with advanced expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software (experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 ERP is a plus). + Leadership Skills: Experience managing or mentoring staff in a fast-paced environment. + Analytical Judgment: Ability to exercise sound judgment in subjective accounting analysis with exceptional attention to detail. + Preferred Credentials: CPA preferred but not required. + Other Attributes: Strong organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. + Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%.
