Accounting Manager
Description We are looking for an experienced and proactive Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of our growing organization in Hingham, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can effectively manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including reporting, compliance, and oversight of financial processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial systems. Responsibilities: • Lead and oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports to support decision-making. • Execute month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Maintain and update accounting records using software tools such as QuickBooks. • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements and tax filings. • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that enhance efficiency and ensure accuracy. • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow to support organizational goals. • Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits and tax preparation processes. • Supervise and support accounting staff, providing mentorship and guidance when applicable. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience, ideally within a small business environment. • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices. • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. • Ability to manage deadlines while working independently and handling multiple responsibilities. • Experience in supervising or mentoring less experienced accounting staff.
