The Record to Report (R2R) Accounting team is a newly created accounting team that will help contribute to Starbucks success by leading the global accounting effort around standardization, automation of tasks and deliverables, reduction of manual efforts through assessment of risk, materiality, and timing in relation to month-end close and other accounting related tasks, broadening our training offerings to support partner development and grow capabilities across the organization, and in general, focus on elevating the overall partner and internal customer experience.  This position is integral to the success of Starbucks and the R2R team and will be heavily involved in shaping and influencing the goals and offerings of the team.

As an accounting manager on R2R, you will…

•    Develop partners and build a high performing team – coach and inspire a diverse team of partners to meet business objectives, challenge the status quo, and seek continuous improvement. Attract, retain, and develop high performing partners to meet the needs of our growing business and provide ongoing thoughtful feedback through development conversations. 
•    Innovate and collaborate for continuous process improvement - advise and lead the global accounting organization in the implementation of ideas and innovations to improve existing systems, internal controls, and work processes impacting month-end and quarter-end financial close and reporting. 
•    Support month and quarter end close – You will review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and trend / variance analysis as part of month and quarter end close and reporting. 
•    Help develop global accounting standards – You will lead the global accounting effort around standardization and work cross-functionally to collaborate, learn, develop, and help implement new standards across the global accounting organization. 
•    Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team that thrives when partnering with other teams and stakeholders, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

We’d love to hear from people with:

•    3-5+ years relevant experience in…
o    Leading an accounting team for a large, multi-national, public company
o    Developing, interpreting, and implementing accounting policies and processes in a high growth environment, while maintaining a strong internal control environment
o    Applying US GAAP to complex business transactions
o    Supporting talent development in a diverse work environment
•    Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
•    Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence and reporting tools (such as Hyperion and Oracle) preferred
•    CPA and/or public accounting experience a plus
•    Experience with automation tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, AI, and other tools a plus

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
