Accounting Manager, Private Clients and Corporate Services (Fixed Term Contract for 12 months)

The Position
We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and support our Guernsey-based Accounts Team. This role involves overseeing the delivery of high-quality accounting services across both private wealth and corporate services portfolios, in line with client agreements and local regulatory requirements.
You’ll play a key role in managing the team, reviewing complex financial statements, and contributing to technical development and process improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role with scope to influence team performance and client outcomes.
Your Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Manage and support the Accounting Team in day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks. Financial Statement Review: Oversee preparation and review of financial statements, including complex and audited accounts under FRS 102. Workflow Management: Ensure timely completion of all accounting tasks, including those delegated across the team. Performance Targets: Meet financial KPIs including chargeable hours, recovery rates, and debtor management. Team Development: Hold regular team meetings, share updates, and support ongoing development. Collaboration: Work closely with administration, Co-Sec, legal, and compliance teams to meet corporate objectives. Compliance Oversight: Monitor and resolve compliance review points within the team. Training Contribution: Identify training needs and create practical resources such as help sheets. Process Improvement: Draft and refine procedures to support best practice and regulatory compliance. Industry Awareness: Stay current with accounting standards and industry developments.Your Profile
Relevant Experience: Proven experience in regulated finance or professional services, ideally at Assistant Manager or Manager level. Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of FRS, IFRS, and FINMA accounting standards. Qualifications: ACCA / ACA qualified, or equivalent. Development Focus: Proactive approach to personal and professional development. IT Skills: Confident with accounting systems and general IT tools.
