Amazon MGM Studios Accounting is looking for a highly motivated and curious Accounting Manager to be a key member of the Accounting Team located in Culver City, California. Amazon MGM Studios is known for award winning television series such as Fallout, Rings of Power, Reacher, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Boys, and Jack Ryan, and original movies such as Saltburn, Roadhouse, Air, Tomorrow War, and Red One. International Originals has brought us hits including Argentina 1985, The Family Man, and LOL while our Live Sports expansion includes NFL Thursday Night Football, NBA on Prime, and Champions League. Worldwide, we continue to focus on unique stories, voices, and characters from top and up-and-coming creators.
The right individual will have exceptional accounting skills, strong leadership skills, and solid business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results. They will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically.
Key job responsibilities
• Guiding the accounting function for Amazon MGM Studios original content activities including TV & Movie development, IP acquisition, physical production, talent deals, production facilities, theatrical distribution, and 3rd party licensing
• Developing, implementing, and improving accounting processes and procedures for dynamic lines of business while increasing controllership
• Managing the month-end financial close and financial reporting including 10Q/K disclosures
• Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new effective processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
• Providing analytical support to the finance and management team to drive improvements to operational & financial results
• End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners
• Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers
• Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results
• Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues
• Prioritization of tasks while providing active coaching to a team of talented individual
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
