Accounting/Finance Attachee
**Description:** To provide support to the Finance Department by assisting with accounts payable processing, cashbook maintenance, general ledger activities, and other accounting functions while gaining practical experience in accounting procedures and financial reporting. **Key Responsibilities** **Accounts Payable** • Process supplier invoices accurately and timely in the Accounts Payable module. • Match invoices with supporting documentation and purchase orders where applicable. • Verify invoice details and ensure proper authorization before processing. • Prepare and initiate supplier payments in accordance with approved payment procedures. • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items. **Cashbook Processing** • Capture and maintain cashbook transactions for bank accounts and petty cash. • Process receipts and payments accurately and ensure supporting documents are properly filed. • Assist in performing bank reconciliations and investigating reconciling items. **General Ledger** • Post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records. • Assist in preparing monthly account reconciliations. • Support month-end and year-end closing activities. • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. **Other Duties** • Maintain proper filing of accounting records and documentation. • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and schedules. • Support internal and external audit requirements by providing requested information. • Perform any other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Accountant or Finance Manager. **Qualifications:** · Currently pursuing a **Bachelor’s degree** in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or any related field · **Microsoft Excel** (very important: formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) · Accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Sage) – an advantage · Accuracy and attention to detail. · Time management and organizational skills. · Integrity and professionalism. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Willingness to learn and develop accounting knowledge and skills. · Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with attention to detail · Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills. **Primary Location:** Zimbabwe-Harare **Organization:** Hyatt Regency Harare **Job Level:** Full-time **Job:** Intern **Req ID:** HAR000109 Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
