A workplace made up of diverse, empowered individuals that allows ideas to thrive and enables us to bring the best to our colleagues, clients and communities. **About the role** Responsible for overseeing, from a financial perspective, the third-party administrator (TPA) processing of group benefits receipts and disbursements both on a timely and accurate basis. Performs the system reconciliation on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Collaborates with processing team on manual money movement and journal entries. Assists Financial Reporting during quarterly and year end reporting. Drives and performs system/procedural enhancement testing (Workday). **Key Accountabilities:** Oversee CBS (Mequon) Suspense Account + Analyze/research reconciling items and follow-up with Operations on open items. + Significant interaction with the Operations, Bank Reconciliation and Cash Management teams to resolve new/outstanding issues. + Track and resolve all suspense items with Operations team. + Ensure required applicable money movement requests and journal entries are processed in a timely fashion. + Perform data mining in the proprietary divisional data mart to identify processing issues. + Identify related items and clear from the Total Reconciliation system (T-Recs). + Prepare monthly reconciliation at an employer level. + Provide financial guidance when required. + Review and update ICFR documents on an annual basis. + Identify areas of process improvements and recommend solutions – both at a system and procedural level. + Update and/or create procedural documentation. Financial Reporting + Statutory Reporting - Prepare quarterly and annual statutory filings. Accountable for schedules, exhibits and Notes. Responsible for requesting organizing, compiling, and tracking information from sources throughout the company for 3-4 legal entities. + Audited Financial Statements – Prepare and review particular consolidating financial statements, notes and supplementary schedules. Ensure data is complete and accurate, detailed documents support reports, and support received from business units and Corporate is maintained in audit binders. Review non-reconcilable information for reasonableness. + Variance Analyses – Prepare and ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity of quarterly and annual financial statement line-by-line analyses for noninsurance legal entities which identify significant, unusual, or unreasonable variances. Critically review responses and work with responsible parties to obtain necessary subsequent information, clarification, or make corrections. + Surveys – Prepare annual and quarterly AMBEST, ACLI and other industry associations’ information requests and data surveys for 3-4 insurance legal entities. Ensure data requested is received from multiple sources, compiled correctly, reviewed for comparability, and reconciled back to Annual Statement financial statements, exhibits and schedules. Resolve any inconsistency or comparability issues with source contacts. + Noninsurance Third Party Administrator filings and Other –Assist in preparing 30-40 annual filings, and research and follow up on questions received on filings. Review Intangibles to ensure asset balances agree with valuation support, accurate amortization and accumulated amortization are recorded. Perform quarterly Other Comprehensive Income reviews for noninsurance entities. Ledger Support – additional tasks which may be assigned + Maintain close calendar on Workday Headquarters. Coordinate and communicate updates for Finance quarterly reporting calendar. + Assist with year-end reporting tasks/requests + Run monthly close meetings + Participate in project testing for business related testing impacts to Workday + Set up/assign Account Certifications for new account/spend categories + Set up new bank accounts in ME00 screen, add to account posting rules and mapping in Workday + Schedule monthly matching runs + Research errors in Common Format integration and resolve/update mapping/etc. + Complete daily balancing/error tracking as a back up to Senior Financial Accountant + Other opportunities as identified. **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s Degree and/or 4 – 6 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 6-8 years related experience. + Proven experience in cash application, account reconciliation, GAAP and Statutory accounting. + Must be proficient in MS Office including Access, Outlook, and Word. + Must possess intermediate Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. + Familiarity with G/L and financial reporting systems (i.e., Workday, COGNOS, or Hyperion) and how general ledgers support the financial statements. + Excellent organizational and time management skills + Must possess critical thinking skills. + Must provide excellent customer service and the ability to interface well with customers. + Ability to discern and resolve issues independently. + Must be flexible with work schedule during peak times and able to work overtime to meet business needs. **Preferred:** The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois): $69,776.00 - $100,788.00 per year The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
