Job Title: Accounting Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the timely collection of past due receivables and act as a liaison between various departments and customers. This role involves preparing and distributing invoices, verifying payments, and performing complex account reconciliations using ERP and Microsoft Access software.
Responsibilities
Address timely collection of customers' past due receivables via email and phone.Determine when to place or release customer credit holds.Act as a point of contact between customers and internal teams such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Order Entry, Customer Service, and Sales.Prepare and distribute invoices through email, portal upload, or mail, along with supporting documentation as required.Analyze customer account data using ERP and Microsoft Access software.Verify receipt of invoice payments and follow up on defaulted payments.Effectively address customer questions via calls and emails.Perform complex customer account reconciliations and address issues with various internal departments.Maintain customer credit terms and credit limits, and manage the release of orders from credit hold.Compile, sort, and match documents such as invoices and vouchers. Key and file checks and purchase orders.Calculate, prepare, and process accruals and account reconciliations for month-end.Follow up with departments on action items.Prepare reports related to Accounts Receivable.Interact with auditors during annual and mid-year audits.Essential Skills
Experience in accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and finance.Ability to work independently due to limited training availability.High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Experience with ERP software systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.Two or four-year college degree in accounting or finance preferred.Two or more years of experience in an accounting or administrative support role.Excellent planning and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.Work Environment
The position is located at the corporate office in a high-rise building in Downers Grove. Candidates will gain exposure to various sub-companies within the organization. The office is shared with the entire finance team.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Downers Grove, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
