Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), journal entries, and the month-end close process. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.Match purchase orders with invoices and resolve discrepancies.Manage vendor relationships, including handling inquiries and reconciling statements.Prepare and process payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.Maintain and update vendor files and records.Generate and send invoices to customers.Track and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely collection.Apply customer payments and resolve any discrepancies or issues.Maintain accurate records of all receivables and update customer accounts accordingly.Prepare regular AR aging reports and communicate with management regarding overdue accounts.Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform account analysis.Assist in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring proper classification and recording of transactions.Assist in the month-end close process.Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.Prepare and review accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting journal entries.Support the preparation of management reports and variance analysis.Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.Maintain accurate and organized financial records.Collaborate with other departments to gather information and support financial reporting needs.Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.Essential Skills
2-5 years of experience in AP/AR, month-end close, and other accounting functions.Experience with ERP systems and Excel, particularly Sage Intacct.Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.Highly analytical with strong data gathering skills.Competency with accounting software packages.Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting.Manufacturing background with experience in a company around 19 million in revenue.Experience is valued over a degree if extensive.ELG with internship and entry-level experience will be considered.Proficiency in data entry, Microsoft Word, payment processes, and invoice resolution.Work Environment
The position is full-time from Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, with a total of 40 hours per week.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.85/hr.
