Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to support daily financial and administrative operations in our Cromwell, CT office. This role is fully onsite and requires a detail‑oriented professional with strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and billing codes, with bonus consideration for those familiar with Medicare/Medicaid billing processes.
Responsibilities
Process incoming payments and outgoing vendor invoicesMaintain accurate records of customer and vendor transactionsResolve discrepancies and communicate with internal and external stakeholders as neededPerform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completenessAssist with month‑end accounting processes where applicableWork with billing codes to ensure proper categorization and processingSupport billing functions, including Medicare/Medicaid billing (preferred)Assist with general administrative tasks to support the finance teamMaintain organized digital and physical filing systemsEssential Skills
2+ years of accounting experience with exposure to AR, AP, and reconciliationStrong understanding of accounts receivable and payable processesHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and communication skillsAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with MIP or Sage preferredExperience with Medicare/Medicaid billing highly preferredGAAP: exposure to reconciliations, collections, general ledgerJob Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Cromwell, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
