Accounting Associate
Accounting Associate Bachelors Degree, No experience Job Description The Accounting Associate will support the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department, focusing primarily on Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Cash Applications. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting timely close processes, and ensuring efficient transaction processing within a fast-paced, high-volume industrial environment. Responsibilities + Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. + Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts (3-way matching). + Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries. + Assist with payment processing, including checks, ACH, and wire payments. + Maintain vendor records and ensure proper documentation and approvals. + Generate and post customer invoices in accordance with company policies. + Monitor aging reports and assist with collections activities as needed. + Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries. + Support month-end AR close activities and reconciliations. + Apply daily cash receipts accurately to customer accounts. + Reconcile unapplied cash and resolve variances. + Post lockbox, ACH, wire, and check payments. Essential Skills + Accounting, Accounts payable, Accounts receivable. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivots preferred). + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). + 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. + Experience supporting AP, AR, or cash applications. + Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) is preferred. + Exposure to high-volume transaction processing. + Understanding of basic accounting principles and internal controls. Work Environment This position operates Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM in an office setting, with some flexibility. The work environment is within a corporate headquarters of a large organization undergoing technological changes, providing an excellent opportunity for growth and development Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
