The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations, focusing on general ledger support, journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytical reporting. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with spreadsheets and financial data.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries in support of month-end and period-end close processes.Perform general ledger account reconciliations and maintain accurate rollforwards.Analyze account activity and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness.Support spreadsheet-based analysis, including reconciliations, trend analysis, and ad hoc reporting.Assist with maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with accounting policies.Provide analytical and administrative support to senior accounting staff as needed.Participate in process improvements and documentation of accounting procedures.Essential SkillsProficiency in Excel, including reporting and data analysis.Experience with general ledger, month-end processes, and journal entries.Understanding of debits and credits.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.0-3 years of relevant experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong reconciliation skills.Familiarity with accounting, reporting, and balance sheet tasks.Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The dress code is business casual. The accounting team consists of approximately 20 people, providing a collaborative and supportive environment. There is significant room for growth and development within the largest health system in the area, which actively trains and develops staff for future roles.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.63 - $33.99/hr.
