Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our client in Providence, Rhode Island. In this role, you will assist with a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and organization of financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and proficiency in accounting software. Responsibilities: • Verify and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with approval protocols. • Reconcile general ledger accounts with supporting subledgers using legal practice management software. • Maintain well-organized digital and physical records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents. • Liaise with vendors, clients, and internal staff to address payment inquiries and ensure timely resolutions. • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including closing procedures and reporting tasks. • Support departmental projects and contribute to various general accounting operations. • Perform administrative duties, such as data entry and clerical support, within the accounting department Requirements • Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Familiarity with invoice processing and reconciliation. • Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and team members. • Solid organizational skills to maintain accurate and accessible financial records.
