ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

TelevisaUnivision Transformation team is seeking an Accountant to support our Streaming Service business. This position is an integral part of the Finance, collaboratively with numerous teams including production, business affairs, post-production, creative, and corporate accounting. We are seeking an Accountant with a variety of soft skills, industry knowledge, and a strong contributor to the business. This position is instrumental in supporting the Production Finance team.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

Work closely and collaboratively with numerous teams including production, business affairs, post-production, creative, and corporate accounting

Support month end closing and reporting including reconciling Balance Sheet accounts and prepare journal entries

Cash management – manage vendor payments, reconciling monthly cash during closing, prepare comparatives, and variance explanations

Manage production reconciliations between the studio and production accounting systems

VAT and Tax incentive reconciliation, funding, and collections

Prepare and maintain intercompany balances, allocations, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies

Work with Treasury and Account Payables team for payment requests and providing payment confirmations to vendors

Assist in reviewing & analyzing production budgets, cost reports, cash flows

Onboard production partner to all required applications, policies, and procedures

Track cash flows and update cost reports for all original and manage all cost- related to production

Supporting operational leaders and the finance organization with ad hoc projects

Drive improvements to current cash & financial reporting for the department

YOU HAVE:

Professional work experience of 4- 5 years, media-industry experience preferred but not required

Experience working with Oracle, SAP, or other similar enterprise financial systems

Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Excellent excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables, organizational skills, collaboration and accountability

Willingness to learn in a dynamic, high-paced and rapidly changing industry

Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and strong communications skills

Strong English verbal and written communications skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving

Drive process improvement and initiatives that impact the function and business

Ability to thrive in a high pressure and rapidly changing, less structured environment

Solid understanding of controllership accounting skills

Ability to multi-task, self- motivated, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and confidentiality

Has strong communication skills with the ability to interact with senior management and other high-level industry executives and strong relationship building ability

Utilizes knowledge and experience to exercise sound business judgment and make independent decisions

Professional and proficiency in English and Spanish

Has knowledge of and actively consumes Univision content, a plus!
