Job Description

To assist the Accounting Manager in routine accounting operations to ensure delivery of quality accounting services in accordance with the Department’s requirements.

Routine tasks and expertise that typically would apply or be needed during the process:

Book vendor invoicesMatch amounts in proprietary A/P system to vendor invoicesPrepare and issue schedules of paymentsUpdate vendor statementsReconcile and resolve problem invoicesBuild key relationships with vendors in order to quickly resolve invoice issuesFile invoices, statements and any accounting related documents when necessarySupport Accounting Department with miscellaneous projects and assignmentsEnsure communication with local branchesUse of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc.  Write with pencil/pen/marker Functions performed primarily while seated at deskBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; Advanced degree or Certification preferredMinimum two years of relevant experience in Public Accounting and/or industryTechnically proficient and have strong accounting, analytical, financial modeling, and research skillsExcellent organization skills and detailed-orientedMotivated self-starter and work with urgencyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentProficient in MS Office applications (specifically Excel), and financial query tools (Hyperion Financial Management is a plus)Excellent written and oral English communication skills

Manages the disbursement process to ensure service providers are paid accurately and timely.   Receivables: Manages the accounts receivables process, including receiving, safeguarding, and recording customers’ receipts, as per Expeditors' accounting policies. Assists in the credit management process to ensure customers remain within agreed credit and payment terms. Accounting Exception Management: Proactively monitors exception reports to identify problems on accounts, analyze exceptions and to effectively resolve issues with internal and external
