We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Plant Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will oversee financial operations related to liquid and gas settlements while ensuring accurate producer payments. This position requires strong expertise in accounting processes, excellent organizational abilities, and experience working with midstream accounting systems, preferably TIPS experience. Responsibilities: • Calculate liquid and gas settlements to ensure precise producer payments using specialized accounting software. • Prepare and distribute sales invoices, monitor payments, and conduct monthly reviews of accounts receivable aging. • Record monthly journal entries and create comprehensive gross margin reports. • Verify monthly imbalances by comparing measurement volumes with scheduled volumes and third-party pipeline statements. • Generate and distribute settlement, imbalance, and operator statements to relevant stakeholders. • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to settlement processes. • Maintain accurate company and address information within the accounting software. • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting. • Assist with audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. • At least 1 year of experience in midstream accounting or similar roles. • Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly TIPS, is preferred. • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team. • Familiarity with month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliations. • Experience in preparing journal entries and analyzing financial data. • Willingness to occasionally travel or visit industrial sites when necessary.
