Job Summary
Trane Technologies in is hiring an Accountant III for its North America Record to Report (“RTR”) Accounting team. This role will be based in either Davidson, NC or La Crosse, WI. The Accountant III is part of the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) organization and reports directly to a RTR Accounting Manager. This position will provide financial information by researching and analyzing accounts. This position will assist in month end close duties such as preparing journal entries, providing data for business units, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and Trane Technologies financial policies and practices.
Responsibilities
Support month-end close activities including variance analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Support NA Revenue to Margin Team processes including, but not limited to, inventory and cost accounting and revenue recognition
Maintain internal controls by periodically reviewing accounting processes and procedures
Reviews transaction errors to ensure proper impact on perpetual and G/L records
Reviews variances to determine cause
Support business partners for NA Revenue to Margin Equipment Team processes
Provide ad hoc reporting, analysis, and support as needed
Contribute to standard work, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration
Assist with audit and tax reporting requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required; accounting degree preferred
CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred
5+ years’ experience in general accounting and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP
Ability to interpret and communicate financial results clearly, including to non‑financial audiences
Detail‑oriented, deadline‑driven, and highly organized
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Oracle or other ERP systems, OneStream, Tableau, SQL or Dataiku is a plus
Knowledge of Trane Technologies reporting structure and systems preferred (Oracle R12, OneStream, PeopleSoft Financials), Strong PC skills required: Microsoft Office Suite (with Excel emphasis)
