Our Vision:  A world where patient diseases are conquered with the guidance of personalized diagnostics.   For more information, please visit www.biodesix.com.   OVERVIEW:  The Accountant I will perform daily transaction entry, reconcile general ledger accounts, support the monthly close process, assist with annual external audit, and execute special projects and initiatives as necessary to improve reporting, controls and processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, reconciliations, general ledger and understanding of GAAP (some exposure to audit a plus) and will be prepared to pitch in with various tasks, as required.    RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and monitor fixed asset ledgers, including monthly depreciation calculation and review of new assets for compliance with capitalization policy  Maintain and monitor liability and lease amortization schedules, including monthly contract reviews for potential leases, with the goal of owning and understanding the entire lease process  Maintain and monitor the schedules for intangible assets, prepaid expenses, and vendor deposits  Prepare monthly account reconciliations  Prepare monthly closing journal entries  Prepare property tax reports  Assist with annual external audit, including preparation of schedules and work-papers  Assist in development, maintenance, and compliance of accounting policies and internal controls, maintain accounting files and documentation  Identify opportunities for process improvements or automation  Ad-hoc accounting and financial analysis  Provide general accounting and finance assistance to other departments and functions  REQUIREMENTS:  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Strong organizational skills  Team player, but must also have the ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives  Ability to make and meet commitments  Ability to roll your sleeves up and get involved and manage assigned projects, as necessary  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization  Knowledge of GAAP as well as familiarity with federal, state and local tax laws.  Advanced knowledge of Excel strongly preferred  Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus  Competency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:    Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, finance or related field  CPA desirable  Minimum 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience  Internal control and or SOX compliance experience is a plus.  COMPENSATION:   Base Salary Range $25 to $28 per hour Discretionary Bonus opportunity  Comprehensive health coverage: Medical, Dental, and Vision  Insurance: Short/Long Term Disability and Life Insurance  Financial benefits: 401(k), Flex Spending Account  120 hours of annual vacation  72 hours of paid sick time off   11 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays  Employee Assistance Program  Voluntary Benefits  Employee recognition program    Individual base compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related aspects.    Biodesix is an equal opportunity employer.
