We’re looking for an on-site Contract Accountant in the professional services industry.

Our client is a respected organization based in Edmonton with a reputation for reliability, integrity, and a supportive team culture. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team on a long-term contract basis. The Contract Accountant will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting day-to-day accounting functions.

Contract Accountant responsibilities: Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting Support month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review financial statements and reports Handle accounts payable and receivable duties Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal procedures Collaborate with internal teams and provide financial insight as needed The successful candidate has: 3 or more years of hands-on accounting experience A strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent time management and problem-solving skills A professional, flexible, and team-oriented approach Compensation and benefits: The discussed rate is $25 – $40 per hour depending on experience Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered Long-term contract with full-time hours Supportive team environment Potential for contract extension
