The Accountant Analyst applies principles of accounting to analyze diverse and complex financial information and prepares financial reports. Responsible for the accuracy, integrity, control and timeliness of financial reports, analyses, systems, and processes. May specialize in specific accounting areas such maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. You Main Responsibilities: General Accounting & Month-End Close • Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities in accordance with GAAP. • Prepare and complete monthly and quarterly account reconciliations in accordance with corporate accounting policies and timelines. • Maintain and review the general ledger for accuracy and completeness. • Assist with consolidation of financial results for multiple entities or business units. Financial Reporting and Analysis • Prepare all required divisional and corporate accounting reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting, investigating, and analyzing account information. Accounting Controls and Compliance • Maintain accounting controls by monitoring and auditing compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal control requirements. • Ensure compliance with divisional Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Inventory and Cost Accounting • Lead the coordination and control of annual physical inventory at one or more locations, including variance analysis. • Maintain standard costs for all part numbers, including development and entry of standard costs for new or redesigned parts and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). • Develop and maintain ongoing audits of standard costs, work centers, and routing codes; review new routings to ensure accurate costing structure. Continuous Improvement and Project Work • Apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal accounting processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control. • Share knowledge with peers and stakeholders, actively contributing to both accounting and cross-functional understanding. We are looking for talent with: • BS accounting required • 2-4 years’ experience; Manufacturing environment; strong excel skills, demonstrated engagement throughout the business. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel • Strong organizational skills • Multi-tasker, deadline-oriented • SAP experience a plus • Willingness to spend time on the shop floor where require • Analytical mindset Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies.
