Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and managing accounts payable and receivable. You will prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, ensuring compliance with tax laws and accounting standards. Proficiency in Excel, high attention to detail, and data entry accuracy are key skills required for this role.
Responsibilities
Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses, in the general ledger.Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and sales tax on a monthly basis.Handle bi-weekly payroll, monitor timesheets, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial statements, such as income statements and balance sheets.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.Collaborate with accountants to prepare for tax season and audits.Essential Skills
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.Experience in general ledger, reconciliation, and cash flow management.Strong skills in Excel and attention to detail in data entry.2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred (3-5 years of experience in accounting if no degree).Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.Work Environment
The position is located at our office in Olathe. The work environment is flexible on hours but requires on-site presence. The company has a total of 70 employees and reports about $150 million in revenue annually. The role reports to the VP and involves being the key go-to person for anything accounting related.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
